My Olympic Medal Tally: By Teagan
This is my Olympic medal tally on the countries that participated. U.S.A was ranked first and China got ranked second. They have won the most golds and medals. U.S.A won heaps with a total of 46 Golds, 29 Silvers, and 29 Bronze medals. China won a little less with a total of 38 Golds, 27 Silvers, and 23 Bronze medals. I think the reason why USA did well because of their massive population (311,591,917), and they get more chances and people to pick. Their government gets more money than New Zealands government, because people pay taxes and they have a massive population and get heap of money to put into sports clubs and training facilities. If they win a gold the sponsors might buy them a house or a car, or they won't have to work for the rest of their life. China did well and got most of their medals in swimming and diving. They must have a lot of pools and aquariums. They were were ranked first at the start and then USA overtook them at the end. New Zealand is ranked fifteenth and got 6 Golds, 2 Silvers, and 5 Bronze medals. We got most of our medals from rowing and on water.
