Poetry: Teagan

Volcano
Magma,
Melted, molten rock,
Like soup that boils,
In a crock...

Beneath the Earth,
It rolls and roils,
Beneath the Earth,
It turns and toils...
Pressure grows,
Magma escapes,
Blows through holes,
Of different shapes...
Mountain cones,
Ring of fire,
Volcanoes blow,
Ash flies higher!
Magma flows,
Becomes hot lava,
Cools to make,
A place like Java...
Magma comes,
From underground,
And flows in lava,
All around...
Listen now,
Don't interrupt,
When volcanoes blow,
They do erupt!

My Time At The Howick Historical Village: Teagan

Make your own slideshow at Animoto.

This is my time at Howick Historical Village. It shows what our school did when we went to the Howick Historical Village. First we went to Mrs. Hill who showed us what outside games were like 100 years ago. Then we went to Mrs Hallam who showed us what toys were like 100 years ago. After that we went to Mrs. White who showed us what school was like 100 years ago, schools were very strict. Then we had a look around Howick Historical Village is a museum and it was a very fun one too.

Dear Mrs. Hallam, Mrs. White, and Mrs. Hill

Thank you for teaching us at Howick Historical Village, I really enjoyed everything we did.

Thank you Mrs. Hill for teaching us how to play the games 100 years ago. I really enjoyed the stilts because it was a challenge to get on and walk, but I did it. I also liked the log skis because you needed to use coordination and work collaboratively. I liked all the games that you showed us that were fun and exciting.

Thank you Mrs. Hallam for all the toys that they had in the 1800-1900 hundreds. My favourite toys were the Periscope because you could spy on people. You could use the periscope to look over things and under things too. I also liked the marble run because you could see what it was made of and you could see how it was made. They were all fun toys to play with, thank you.

Thank you Mrs. White for teaching us what school was like 100 years ago. I learnt that kids had to write on a slate in linked writing and that was really hard. Putting your hands on your laps at all times except for writing that was really annoying. Thank you for teaching me what school was like 100 years ago.

I really learned a lot from the Howick Historical Village. I learned what the houses looked like in 1800 in Panmure/Howick. My most favourite place was the church because it was cool when the music came on and it was where my teacher got married. Thank you for the time our school had there. I had a great time and hope to go back.
Yours sincerely

Use this weeks word list to write a compound sentence about each word in your list.
eg: Sweets taste good, but they can be bad for you.

sieve- I poured the noodles and the water in the sieve, but all the water dripped out.
stationary- I got my stationary last week, but it didn’t come with a ruler.
tragedy- It was tragedy because the sheep were lost, luckily Bob found them all.
abrupt-When the whistle blew and the game was over that was an abrupt end to the All Blacks game, maybe that is why they lost.

My Ideal Classroom: Teagan

This is my ideal classroom. This is some things I would do if our school got heaps of money. I have three rooms that I think will be good for learning. In the big room I have got 6 desks and they are different so that kids have a variety of desks to choose from. I have 5 beanbags and 2 couches, I have the couches so kids can feel comfortable when they learn and I put beanbags there so if children are already on the couches they can hop on the beanbags no one can miss out. On the right of the interactive whiteboard there is the teachers desk. My teacher loves coffee so much I think she would marry it, so I put in a coffee room so she could come in their at 9 in the morning and leave the coffee room at three. The room next to the coffee room is have a music room that is for every music performance and every audition that they have for a production that they have. The room on top of the music room is the art room.I think we should have an art room because children could just paint and not worry about staining the floor or staining everything around them. I have 5 computers because kids who don't have netbooks can  use them and won't have a disadvantage from learning.
